Why Twitter?!

Here's 5 reason from our group opinions..

Tuesday 11 September 2012

2 criteria of the Twitter ..

BRAINSTORMING :-

You don’t need to hit a problem wall to start brainstorming. Brainstorming is a way to generate creative solutions by hitting a problem with as many ideas a group can think of. But the free-wheeling exercise is also a great way to see a topic from hidden angles.

Physical brainstorming may sound like a carefree slam-bang talk session, effective brainstorming hardly is. One way to notch up effectiveness is to take it online.

Online brainstorming can be done using anything from email to chat meeting rooms, and even Twitter. But why keep it that simple when you have a galaxy of brainstorming software apps out there.

CLASS NOTICES :-

Twitter offers new and exciting ways to open up the lines of communication in the classroom.

1- Direct Tweet.

Instructors and students can contact each other through direct Tweets without having to share cell phone numbers. This could be useful if you’re ever in a jam on some finance course work and need assistance.

2- Get to know your classmates.

A class Twitter group will help facilitate instructors and students getting to know each other, especially if the class is part of a more intimate setting such as a seminar.

3- Collaborate on projects.

When working together on projects, set up a group using an app like Tweetworks to facilitate communication between everyone working together.

4- Make announcements.

Instructors can send out reminders about upcoming tests, project due dates, or any news that needs to be shared via Twitter.

5- Brainstorm.

The ability to share ideas as the occur any time and any where creates an excellent opportunity for brainstorming on class topics.

6- Take a poll.

Ask student their opinions or get feedback on future projects or topics by using an app like PollDaddy.

7- Share interesting websites.

Both instructors and students can post interesting websites that are relevant to their class.

8- Daily learning.

Twitter feeds happen much more frequently than the two or three times a day a student is in class, therefore using Twitter in the classroom means there is a daily opportunity for learning.

9- Ambient awareness.

This blog post on TwiTip offers an excellent description of ambient awareness and how it facilitates getting to know those you follow in more meaningful ways.
